CHAPTER ONE

The first ten minutes

522 S Lee St, Americus, GA 31709 Open in Maps
  1. Park off the street

Use the paved driveway or the off-street spots. Keep the sidewalk and the neighbors' driveways clear.

  2. Open the lockbox

Your code is in your arrival message from us. We never post it online.

  3. Get on the Wi-Fi

Details are on the card by the QR code, and here when they're live.

  4. Set the temperature

Pick a comfortable setting and keep the outside doors shut while the heat or air runs. Old houses lose air fast.

  5. Find the porch

Grab a chair. It's the best seat on Lee Street, and that's the whole point.

CHAPTER TWO

How the house works

She's 116 years old, with modern systems behind original doors, floors and hardware. Be gentle and she'll be good to you.

KITCHEN

Cook like you live here

Gas stove, full fridge, cookware and a coffee maker. Wash or load your dishes, and never leave the stove unattended.

BEDROOMS

Five queens

Every bedroom has a queen bed, and the couches take the overflow. Keep to the guest count on your reservation.

BATHROOMS

Three and a half

Old pipes are fussy. Only toilet paper goes in the toilets. Wipes and everything else go in the trash.

HEAT & AIR

Comfortable, not arctic

Reasonable settings keep every floor even. Keep the outside doors closed while it runs.

FIREPLACES

For looks only

They're decorative. No fires, candles or incense anywhere in the house.

ANTIQUES

Easy does it

Don't force old doors, locks or hardware. If something sticks, message us and we'll walk you through it.

LOCKED DOORS

Owner storage

A few doors, including the laundry room and some closets, are locked. Everything you need is open to you.

THE PORCH

Sit a while

Morning coffee or evening drinks. Bring food in when you're done so you don't feed the critters.

The stairs are original. So is the creak on the fourth step.
